Description

The ifm efector IO-Link Module with M12 Connector product line integrate standard digital and analog sensors and actuators into an IO-Link system, so simple switching signals and smart sensor data is streamlined in one network. Each module plugs into an IO-Link master port with a standard unshielded M12 cable and gives you 4 to 10 M12 I/O sockets. Models include digital inputs, digital outputs, and configurable hubs that mix digital and analog I/O. On configurable models, each port can be set up independently, and ports can detect from the PLC logic whether to act as an input or an output. Depending on the model, power comes from the master’s Class A or Class B port or from an external A-coded or L-coded M12 supply for high-current outputs. LED indicators show operation, switching status, and faults at each port, optimizing setup and troubleshooting.

These modules are built for the field, with a fully potted polyamide housing, nickel-plated brass M12 sockets, FKM seals, IP65/IP67 protection, and resistance to oils, coolants, shock, and vibration. Food-grade versions with stainless steel sockets and IP69K protection are available for hygienic and washdown areas. Because I/O is gathered next to the process and sent back over one cable, these hubs cut wiring and installation time.
