The AEMC CM605 100A AC/DC low current clamp-on meter is an ideal choice for both process and general industrial markets. It is also the perfect instrument for measuring 4 to 20mA process signals and higher currents (up to 100A) associated with general industrial monitoring and troubleshooting.

The CM605 is a versatile device that is capable of measuring both AC/DC voltages, up to 600V, and AC/DC current. It can also measure resistance up to 10kΩ and includes a continuity buzzer to assist in circuit verification. The meter can also hold the last reading in the display and capture the peak value at the time of the measurement.

Car Battery Leakage

The Background: Our customer was concerned that something was drawing current from his car battery causing it to lose its charge and leaving it without enough power to start the car. He is seeking a means of locating the draw.

The Problem: The current draw is very small so the customer needs a meter capable of detecting these low current levels. Additionally, he doesn’t want to have to cut into wires or to spend a lot of money.

The Solution: We recommended the AEMC CM605, a low current clamp-on multimeter that can detect current as low as 10mA. This is a cost-effective option that can help the customer find the draw without having to expose any of the wires.
