Description

The Rosemount Analytical Model 245 conductivity sensor is a flow-through toroidal (inductive) intended for pharmaceutical and food and beverage application where a sanitary design is required. No part of the sensor protrudes into the piping, so the sensor does not interfere with process flow.

The Model 245 is not an immersion sensor. The sample flows only through the toroid opening; it does not surround the toroids. Therefore, the circuit around the toroids is not complete. To complete the circuit, a stainless steel contact ring on either side of the toroids couples the ionic current in the sample to an electronic current that travels through the sensor housing surrounding the toroids.

The sensor is available in four line sizes between ½ inch and 2 inches with corresponding Tri-Clamp® fittings. Flanges and contact rings are 316 stainless steel, the liner is unfilled PEEK, and O-rings are EP. Plastics and elastomers meet the requirements of 21CFR177.

The maximum temperature is 121°C (250°F), and the maximum pressure is 100 psig (791 kPa abs).
