Description
The Honeywell 301C digital gas detection controller acts as the nerve center of a modular gas detection network and provides continuous monitoring of up to 96 inputs/outputs, on 3 distinct channels, at distances of up to 2,000 feet using Modbus RS-485 communications. Once installed, this highly customizable and powerful tool provides around the clock protection identifying hazards and triggering appropriate actions such as ventilation activation.
The 301C controller offers two output options; Modbus and BACnet/IP providing flexibility and easy installation. The ModBus RS-485 output allows a daisy-chain connection of detectors, using only two-pair wiring.

Here's how some of our customers use this product...
Monitoring Carbon Monoxide in a Parking Garage
The Background: Our customer is a golf course that utilizes a parking garage for their customers. The seek a reliable means of monitoring carbon monoxide inside the garage which can trigger ventilation fans or alarms, if levels reach a certain threshold.
The Problem: Parking garages can trap high levels of carbon monoxide that is produced from running car engines. Failure to control these levels is a health and safety concern. Our customer wants a monitoring system that is redundant. When CO levels reach a certain threshold the system will activate ventilation fans. If the fans can’t adequately remove the CO and levels creep higher to another threshold, an alarm will notify the local fire department who can take action before the situation become dangerous.
The Solution: We recommended the Honeywell E3Point gas detector with a Honeywell 301C gas controller due to ease of use and local and consolidated alarm capabilities this system would have. The local relay output at each E3Point monitor is used to trigger the local ventilation system and the 301C is used to alert the fire department if any of the CO monitors in the network go above the threshold.
