Description

The Dakota NDT R9 sonic tester has been designed for the racing industry, and is commonly used to measure the thickness of cylinder walls, head ports, decks, chassis tubing, body panels, and windshields. The R9 tester features a dual element style of probe with the ability to locate corrosion or deterioration on the blind surface in the water jacket area prior to boring a cylinder or port.

The high-speed scan feature takes 100 measurements per second to save time when scanning a complete cylinder. The user simply drags the probe from the bottom of the cylinder, at a given clock position in the cylinder, up to the deck area to locate the minimum thickness found. The scan can then be switched off, and the user can find the exact location of the minimum thickness.

The R9 sonic tester has three material calibration options (single point, two point, and target velocity) for increased accuracy.  Cylinder wall mapping software is available for manually creating reports.
