Linear Position Sensors
Linear position sensors measure the distance between an object and a point of reference and convert the linear displacement of that object into an electrical signal that is proportional to the object’s displacement. Linear position sensors are commonly found in industrial applications such as robotics, packaging, injection molding, process automation, manufacturing, research and development, and many others. Some of the most common types of linear position sensors are Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT) and Linear Variable Inductive Transducers (LVIT), both of which offer friction-free, non-contact inductive magnetic coupling for extremely long cycle life, high accuracy, and virtually infinite resolution. Both styles are ideal for critical applications in harsh environments.
