The HOBO MX2001 is the industry's first water level data logger designed for convenient wireless setup and download from mobile devices via Bluetooth Low Energy. The logger dramatically simplifies and lowers the cost of field data collection by providing wireless access to high-accuracy water level and temperature measurements right from a mobile phone or tablet. The MX2001 logger consists of a top-end unit and a water level sensor connected by a direct read cable which is purchased separately.

The MX2001 data logger supports the following measurements: Absolute Pressure, Barometric Pressure, Differential Pressure, Water Level and Water Temp

Monitoring Water Levels During Construction

The Background: Our customer is a construction company undertaking a lakeside project. They seek a way to monitor the water level of the lake.

The Problem: Excavation for the project is set to commence in the spring when winter snowmelt fills the lake. There are concerns that rising lake levels could cause the excavated area to collapse threatening the safety of workers and damage to equipment.

The Solution: We recommended the HOBO MX2001, a water level data logger. We recommended this unit because of the long battery life and the ability to download the data directly to a mobile device. This makes it extremely easy for the contractor to monitor the lake level without having to remove the logger or carry around a computer to retrieve the data.
