The HOBO MX Temperature / RH Data Logger records and transmits temperature and relative humidity (RH) in indoor environments with its integrated sensors. This Bluetooth Smart-enabled logger is designed for wireless communication with Apple or Android mobile devices.

Using Onset's free HOBOmobile app, you can view data in graphs, check the operational status of loggers, configure alarm notifications, and share data files. The logger can calculate minimum,maximum, average, and standard deviation statistics and be configured to trip audible or visual alarms at thresholds you specify. The logger also supports burst logging in which data is logged at a different interval when sensor readings are above or below certain limits. This compact data logger also has a built-in LCD screen to display the current temperature, relative humidity, logging status, battery use, memory consumption, and more.

Monitoring Temperature and Humidity in a Crawl Space

The Background: The customer, a homeowner, is concerned with mold growth and wants to monitor temperature and humidity in his attic crawl space.

The Problem: Not wanting to continuously enter the crawl space, the customer originally wanted a temperature/humidity probe and a wire long enough to run from the crawl space to a display inside the house.

The Solution: We recommended the HOBO MX1101 since the Bluetooth connectivity allows the customer to view real-time temperature and humidity values as well as several days’ worth of logged data on a smart phone without having to run any wires.
