Description
The Dakota Ultrasonics DFX-6 Series flaw detectors are full featured digital scopes designed to handle the simplest to the most difficult applications. Whether the application requires high penetration for materials that are difficult to measure, or high resolution for precision aerospace parts, the DFX-6 series flaw detectors are equipped with the necessary features to do the job.
Features of the DFX-6 Series include a transflective color TFT display, broad and narrow band amplifier, square wave pulser, and curved surface correction. The DFX-6 also feature automatic calibration and are housed in an extruded aluminum case, which has an IP65 rating.
The DFX-6 Series includes four models, the 615, 625, 635, and 638 - each offering different specifications such as test range, pulser voltage, delay and frequency bands.
Dakota Ultrasonics DFX-615 features:
- A test range of 0-0.2in (5mm) up to 0-400in (10,000mm) at steel velocity
- A 200 volt peak amplitude, with a rise/fall time of less than 10ns into 50Ω
- Pulser width is fixed at 100ns
- The Pulse Repetition Frequency is selectable from 35 to 1,000 Hz in 5Hz steps
- Frequency bands of Broadband 1-10 MHz (-6dB)
Dakota Ultrasonics DFX-625 features:
- A test range of 0-0.2in (5mm) up to 0-400in (10,000mm) at steel velocity
- A 200 volt peak amplitude, with a rise/fall time of less than 10ns into 50Ω
- The pulser width is from 30-250ns linked to the filter band
- The Pulse Repetition Frequency is selectable from 35 to 1,000 Hz in 5Hz steps
- 4 Narrow Bands centered at 1MHz, 2MHz, 5MHz and broadband 1.5-15MHz.
Dakota Ultrasonics DFX-635 features:
- A test range of 0-0.05in (1mm) up to 0-800in (20,000mm) at steel velocity, variable in 1, 2 or 5 sequence or continuously in 0.05in increments
- A 100V-350V square wave pulser with an adjustable pulser width of 2% (of nominal width)
- The Pulse Repetition Frequency is selectable from 35 to 5,000 Hz in 5Hz steps
- 6 narrow frequency bands centered at 0.5, 1, 2.25, 5, 10 and 15 MHz, with broadband from 2 to 22 MHz (-6dB) and 1 to 35 MHz (-20dB)
Dakota Ultrasonics DFX-638 features:
- A test range of 0-0.05in (1mm) up to 0-800in (20,000mm) at steel velocity, variable in 1, 2 or 5 sequence or continuously in 0.05in increments
- A 100V-450V square wave pulser with an adjustable pulser width of 2% (of nominal width)
Additionally, the DFX-638 flaw detector has an interface trigger, which gate locks to surface echo and eliminates water path variation. The DFX-638 also has a high power pulser with a 450V volt boost and a 2-year limited warranty.
