Description
The Megger MPAC128/MPAC128-ATEX Professional Acoustic Imager is suitable for almost all PD applications and for many industrial applications, such as detecting compressed air leaks in non-hazardous areas. Detects partial discharge and gas leaks. Visualize dielectric breakdown risks in finished products, process plants and electrical installation environments.
The MPAC128-ATEX is ATEX-certified for use in hazardous areas, such as explosive vapors and gasses. It is particularly suited for industrial processes, such as oil refineries and chemical plants.
Megger acoustic imaging cameras have 128 microphones. The microphones pick up audible and ultrasonic sounds from gas leaks or partial discharge, using signal processing to suppress unwanted sounds to the imager responds only to to sounds from faults. Additional processing of signals from the microphone array allows imagers to determine the fault's precise direction and approximate physical size. The information is used to produce a colored map representing the fault. It is displayed on top of an ordinary digital image. Colors are used to show the varying sound pressure or volume.
Applications:
- Gas leak detection
- Partial discharge detection
