Description

The Dakota NDT ZX2 fixed velocity thickness gauge is a basic dual element thickness gauge with the ability to locate blind surface pitting and internal defects/flaws in materials. The ZX2 is capable of measuring the thickness of various materials with accuracy as high as ±0.001 inches (±0.01 millimeters).

The ZX2 gives inspectors more pre-set calibration options by allowing them to scroll to a known material velocity, or select a common material from a list of material types stored within the gauge.

Dakota NDT ZX2 Fixed Velocity Thickness Gauge's selectable velocity options

  1. Steel 4340 0.233in/μs (5918m/s)
  2. Stainless 303 0.223in/μs (5664m/s)
  3. Aluminum 2024 0.25in/μs (6350m/s)
  4. Cast Iron 0.18in/μs (4572m/s)
  5. Plexiglass 0.106in/μs (2692m/s)
  6. PVC 0.094in/μs (2388m/s)
  7. Polystyrene 0.092in/μs (2337m/s)
  8. Polyurethane 0.07in/μs (1778m/s)
