Description

The E+H RN42 Active Barrier is a loop-powered unit designed for fast and accurate transmission and galvanic isolation of 0/4 to 20mA/HART signals, with a wide range supply voltage of 24 to 230V AC/DC. Direct connection of a 2 or 4-wire transmitter is possible via an active/passive current input, with an output that can be configured to operate actively or passively. Pluggable screw or optional push-in terminals are available for integration of the barrier with a PLC/controller. Bidirectional transmission to/from the RN42 is possible via the HART-compatible design. Integration with HART devices occurs through easy-access sockets on the front of the unit. The compact, polycarbonate housing with top or the bottom power-supply terminals allows for user-friendly, adaptable installation. The RN42 can be configured for hazardous areas up to Ex Zone 2, as well as safety-oriented applications up to SIL 2 (SC3).
